Why
evaluation is necessary:
Among fundraising strategies, special
events tend to be costly, although they may help to achieve other goals/objectives,
such as:
·
Introducing new prospective donors to the
organization
·
Deepening relationships with current
donors
·
Improving community and donor awareness
about the organization
·
Demonstrating organizational
accomplishments and future goals that needs support
·
Engaging current donors and volunteers,
helping them to be better advocates and more generous donors
While
incorporating the above concepts, evaluate your event while including the
following:
a. was
it successful, etc.
i.
what were your original goals/desired
outcome
ii.
did you meet your goals/desired outcomes
b. what
worked
c. what
didn’t
d. recommendations
for the future
i.
should this event be repeated, adjusted,
or eliminated as an idea
ii.
if repeated or adjusted, what changed
would you make in order to create a more successful event
e. grade
yourself and your teammates
i.
did someone do most of the work?
ii.
did someone not participate much at all?
a.
The
event was very successful.
1.
My
original goal was to collect as many stuffed animals as possible.
2.
I
did meet my goal
b.
The
poster request worked but it could have been better. I had to replace one of my
boxes because someone stole it but other than that it was good didn’t work so
well but it’s just some sags.
c.
The
contact between the organization and me, the box drop off spots, timeframe, the
advertising, and the goal all worked.
d.
My
recommendations would be that I did a better job with the poster. I should put
my name on the poster, contact information, and the organization it was for. It
may have helped the event have more donations and more response.
1.
The
event was a great event that should be repeated in the future for civic
engagement.
2.
The
project just needs to be adjusted so the poster of the event has the contact
information and who the event is for. The event could have been more engaging
to the Alfred State Community.
e.
grade
yourself and your teammates
1.
I
was the main facilitator of the event.
