Dear Dr. Douglass:
I am Lynnette Lockwood and I would like to introduce the Little Angels of Honduras Organization. I am submitting the letter of inquiry to determine your interest in receiving a full proposal for a grant of $500 to support this amazing organization. Your generous gift will help to improve the health conditions in Honduras and fund supplies for the hospital. Simple donations such as antibacterial gel, soap, newborn hats, gloves, baby clothes, bottles, diapers, and wipes help the organization out a lot because they don’t have the technology that the United States has and helps save babies lives a lot more. I would run a supply drive to go along with the grant.
The need for these services is important. In Honduras, 40% of newborn babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) die on a daily basis from preventable deaths. These deaths are caused by infections due to the lack of adequate sanitation. 56% of the babies die daily waiting for space to become available in the NICU. The Little Angels of Honduras Club is an organization that was formed recently that strives to reduce the infant mortality rate in Honduras by assisting with the provision of optimal conditions for pregnancy, birth, and newborn care. The strategy that the organization follows has four parts: provide, support, engage, and construct. Provide is assisting with immediate needs in hospitals. Support is national education and policy change about the issue. Engage is reducing the number of high-risk teenage pregnancies. Construct involves building a new maternal and infant care hospital. The vision of this organization is to give generations of parents the gift of hope and the ability to take their babies home.
To address these needs I will get for money to buy supplies for the Little Angels of Honduras. To fulfill these goals I need to advocate and buy supplies. Supplies would include the ink to print posters about the drive that will go along with the supplies I will buy with your donation, t-shirts to sell to Alfred State College students in support of the effort. The money would go toward buying supplies to fund fundraisers to get the word out about the issue.
To achieve these objectives I will get support with the help of the Little Angels Club on Alfred State campus. Lynnette Lockwood – PR Chair for Little Angles for Honduras Club at Alfred State.
