Unethical Issue Sexual Harassment

An unethical behavior that I have observed is sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is a form of discrimination that can convey rude comments, religious jokes, comments against gender and sexual orientation. Something as simple as saying a joke to your friends against their religion is considered sexual harassment. Anything that is offensive or discrimination is harassment. I have a group of friends who I don’t particularly like because they make offensive jokes about religion and offensive jokes about certain people orientation and gender. Even though it’s just a joke I get upset and frustrated even though it may not apply or even if it does I want to leave. I consider it unethical because it’s slander against certain people. The people that were harmed would be the people in the religious groups, women, and gays and lesbians. No norms were really broken. Steps I would take would involve 1) I would tell the people causing the behavior to stop, 2) I would say why I don’t like it and that it is not funny, 3) I would try to put forth an awareness to spread the word and encourage people to start treating people with respect.
